I knew I want to travel the world. I knew I want to go sailing. I knew I want to go South.
I recently found out that I want to travel as light as possible… even on the water. I was looking for a boat that is as small as possible and still be safe enough to do some serious sailing. After my experience with Emma, our 45 year old Mercedes Camper Van, I knew I want to travel with a boat that is easy to maintain, wherever I am on this planet.
My dream was and is to turn the whole project into an experience worth sharing. I have already done some great journeys and the most amazing has always been to share it.
Fun, joy and love are some of the very few things that get more when you share them. When I was on my own, I struggled to enjoy the beautiful sunsets, the incredible mountain range or the endless ocean as much as I did when I was able to share it.
Therefor I am will document the whole journey on Patreon where you join me, starting at a buck per month. That is basically an espresso every other month and therefor you’ll be part of trip and you’ll receive exclusive content as well.
AND I am going to take people with me. That might be friends, customers or patrons. As I wanted to see if anyone is interested in that project at all, I started the kickstarter campaign three weeks ago, maybe you remember.
Actually it will be online for another roughly 15 hours when this is published and I am so happy that it is fully financed. Nevertheless, if you want to leave a € or two, you are more than welcome. There is also the possibility to purchase a week with me on the boat in 2019. CLICK HERE
I call it camping on the water, as it is a tiny boat compared to all the huge plastic boats you see around, but I can guarantee you, you‘ll have as much fun as you possibly can and it will be an experience of your life.
Are you on board?
Find a goal that is congruent with mind, body, soul!
Educate yourself about it.
Start implementing the new learnings. (maybe on similar projects where you need the same resources)
Be patient and take mistakes as feedback.
Keep learning all the way.
Start before you think you are ready!
Time changes! All the time!
As one second and one moment always connects to the next one, life feels like a constant flow.
On the one hand it actually is and on the other hand all we have is NOW. Decisions are always taken now. Although you can take the experiences from the past into account it remains the moment of now that you take your decision.
It is the combination of your past that will lead to a decision now, that can shape your future.
A coach of mine once told me that our unconscious mind is always protecting us and that decisions we take are always in our best intentions. No body really wants to hurt itself, at least not as long as there some more valuable secondary gain that it will take out of that action.
If you realize that, you will come to the conclusion that whenever you took a clear and congruent decision, it was the right decision. It was as good of a decision as it could possibly be in the moment you took it.
Has it ever proofed to be the wrong decision afterwards because you received feedback that showed you information, you didn’t have before?
Well, it remains the right decision for that very moment you took it. There was something that you didn’t know yet and which you needed to find out to become more aware.
While your heart/soul thrives for something, your mind will create the decision and circumstance for your body to experience it. Then your body will give a feedback of gained knowledge back to your heart and you can thrive for something else.
Let the grieve (about wrong decisions) go and focus on what you are going to do with the new knowledge for the rest of your life.
I myself planned this year to be different. I had plans and goals and dreams and wishes. Then life happened. Other people around me took decisions that I had not foreseen and as everything in life is connected one way or another it made realizing some of my goals impossible.
It was up to me to take this knew knowledge into account. Some blogposts back I told you that I was going to run across the alps by foot and that I wanted to document the journey of this summer. Then I went to Zanzibar and suddenly had to adjust all of my plans. A lot went wrong for me and I reprioritized, had to rearrange some things and had to focus on some other projects. These made running out in the mountains for some weeks not possible…
And… I took the new gained freedom to turn a dream of mine into reality. I always wanted to go sailing. Not around one bay for an hour or so, but for distant places and far away lonely beaches with no schedule to come back.
I needed my own boat and now I have one. I went for the smallest wooden boat that I could find and which is still safe enough to go for larger distances and now I am going to write and publish about this journey instead.
More about my folkboat in another post.
Whatever happens to you is often out of your control. Your reaction to that in contrary is your own choice. I decided to turn the amount of freedom that I momentarily have into the chance to live a childhood dream.
Since I don’t want to do that alone I am inviting you to join me on the adventure around the world.
kickstarter project: kck.st/2uelZbE
I was thinking about this project for quite a while. In fact it has been a dream of mine since I saw sailing boats for the first time and could feel a glimpse of the freedom that it would mean to travel the ocean.
I want to do it my way and still… I don’t want to do it alone. Therefor I decided to bring as many people on board this very special project and launch it on kickstarter.
Travel the world with me:
plastic-free around the world – on a tiny wooden boat
I plan to restore a 50 year old wooden folkboat and sail plastic-free around the world. I want to take you on that journey with me.
Raising the awareness for sustainable living
In 2012 I took the decision to go for my childhood dream of sailing the world before the year 2021. At that time I had no idea how to ever do that. I wasn’t able to sail, I thought all boats cost 250.000,- upwards and I was afraid when I couldn’t see land or was alone in the dark.
Still I gave my unconscious mind a very clear task.
Sailing the world before I’m forty and somehow that thought stuck around all that time. In the rearview, a lot of the decisions I have taken since then make sense now. I went alone to Sahara, passed my sailing license, went on regattas, lived in a camper for 8 months, built up my coaching business, left my corporate job, built up a Lodge in Zanzibar, minimized my possessions…
Most of these gave me either a great deal of personal freedom, the experiences I needed or both.
By now I am just missing roughly 3.000,- to achieve that goal of restoring a historic wooden boat. Unfortunately I lost my Lodge in Zanzibar due to fraud and greed. This took me a bit off the financial planning for this and the next year… On the other hand did it give me the opportunity to plan even more freely than before.
Since I never planned to just go sailing on my own, but turn it into an experience that I wanted to share with others, that I want to share with you, I came up with the idea to sell some of my ideas for next year upfront to kickstart the project in 2018, to be ready for you in 2019.
Therefore I need your help and your trust!
I am going for a nordic folkboat, because it is one of the smallest boat categories that can make it across the Atlantic ocean. It is the most popular boat class and it has been around forever (75 year). That leaves me with a good price range to be affordable.
Furthermore is it small enough to be maneuvered completely without an engine. The construction is simple enough, wooden planks, tiller steering, simple rigging, to be maintained and repaired by myself while traveling. I am planning to go without a build-in-engine since it is my goal to travel the world without using (plastic) or burning (petrol) any fossil carbon.
I am not looking for the best comfort, but for the greatest experience. Which I am going to share with you.
I created this project with a pledge of 3.000,- but have plenty of room to improve. If I make this minimum amount I can finish all needed projects. Everything above will also be invested in the project and will go into further improvement of the boat, water desalination, solar power, better anker, new rigging. That leaves me hoping for a multiple of the original amount asked for.
While traveling I have a mission to work on:
I want to help people to LIVE THE LIFE THEY LOVE.
I believe that each one of us has a deep rooted desire to live life in a way that feels good and won’t hurt or harm anyone else.
True love is always sustainable. Therefore I believe that raising the awareness for an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle as well as a life worth living belongs together. I signed, respect and live the pledge of the United Nations Clean Seas Organisation with their Slogan: turn the tide on plastic!
If you want and are willing to help me to realize the: “LIVE THE LIFE YOU LOVE – world tour”!
Thank you for making this possible, Floh

I am going for my dreams for quite a while now and new dreams keep showing up in my life, making the old ones obsolete. It seems as if I can´t get tired of something new and that is just the way that I am motivated.
How are you?
What motivates you most and are you sure, that these are your own desires or are you trying to please someone externally.
Make sure your dreams are your own and that they meet the underlying cause. Match your motivation with your values and your beliefsystem. Create a smart goal for your unconscious mind to be your guidance towards living the life you love.
Who am I?: 16 Basic Desires
I am so thrilled to be able to present you an inspiring young couple: Kika and Dan. They decided to not buy a couch and settle down after graduation, but instead invest all they had into an old sailing boat that still had to be renovated before they could even launch it into the water.
What amazes me most about the two is not, that they are living their dream on a sailing boat, but that they made it there against all odds.
They managed to deal with frustration, with the lack of money and the lack of comfort. No matter how big the setback in the beginning was, they kept their smile and humor.

Fear seems to be one of the most limiting factors in life. As true love can be the most motivating one and is able to move mountains or tear them down fear can build them up.
The strange things about fear though is, that fear happens only in your head and mostly deals with the future. Can you even remember the last time that you were frightened here and now?
This happens only in situations that are really dangerous for you and it makes sense to run away or fight.
It is activating your fight or flight response. As a constant process in your head and in your body it may be even quite harmful.
As the thing that you are worrying about is in the future it can help to let the fearful idea go and focus on a positive outcome instead. At least a way to manage a way to take. responsibility for your action and take the decisions that serve you best.
